Canoe on the river

Taken from a photo I took of a canoeist during a long walk the other week. The streak of blue sky was reflecting nicely on the water, but I needed a focal point, then suddenly this canoeist appeared so I waited for the right moment before taking the shot.

This is on Bockingford. This paper works best if you are brave, I dont really know why, but I feel a lot looser when I use it, I let the watercolor drip and run. Its also a slightly bigger sheet (a3) than the arches and millford paintings ive posted, which I think helps. I think I will buy more big sheets from now on and start trying out working at a larger scale.

Just came to this painting from a link in another post. The water is so amazing, the wake, the reflections, etc. The kayaker and his movement are well done and make the entire composition work. Bravo!
