Tamarama Beach, Sydney NSW

With temperatures at present about 30+ C. it is too hot for painting outdoors, so this is an earlier sketch when the days were cooler and the sun was not so intense. This composition is based on a balance of the simple large shapes of the sky, land and the sea, with lost and found edges used to suggest the details of the broken shoreline. The simplified buildings above are linked to the cliffs by a repetition of colour and tone to merge and unify the shapes, and to create a harmonious and balanced composition. W&N - Aureolin , Rose Madder, Raw Sienna, Cobalt Blue, Fr. Ulltramarine Blue, Viridian. All comments welcome. Thanks.
