Rito Frijoles, Bandelier National Monument, New Mexico
This tiny creek is a river! It drains from the Pajarito Plateau to the Rio Grande. I painted it in April, 2021. This is a view of a small lava field in a Ponderosa Pine forest. (Pajarito isSpanish for "little bird"). I used DS Lunar Black for a lot of the rocks.

A nice watercolour, full of details.
Only thing that distracted me a bit, is that the shadow of the two trees in the front are a bit too straight. They don't follow the bumpy ground as much I would like to see.
