It's high summer in the New Mexico mountains. Can't you picture yourself wading step by slow step up this little river, seeking Brown Trout with a short fly rod? I can. Look out for the Water Hemlock streamside, but don't touch! Painted on D-R Prestige, my favorite paper, using plenty of Marami Blu and W-N colors, from a recent photo.
I also like the vivid colours in this, and your brush marks are very good, but in such a busy scene you really need to exaggerate the values, with both paint consistency and cool/warm colours, to create depth and perspective, as Edo says. I have a lot to say about values in paintings, but that's another story! :D
