I was really good at painting tutorials, but I was wanting a challenge. When
I came across Olly"s lessons, I was inspired to paint my own paintings from my own area and photos off my phone.... but it is way harder to do then tutorials! so I am now painting smaller 10-15 min "sketches" and trying to just observe and paint loose (I am still very tight at times) I am trusting the process more and more. so here are my morning "sketches"
... a place, where the time seems to slow down...
This watercolor was inspired by a place in the GhimeΘ Valley, early in the morning, a beautiful mountain area in eastern Romania, near the border between Transylvania and Moldavia. I visited it during this summer and I was captivated by its quiet beauty and timeless atmosphere.
Good and lovely painting.

But I would not mind a bit of showing white paper.
It gives a sparkle.
During a family day out in Γtretat, I did a sketch and then painted this watercolour at home, using my photo as a reference. I didnβt manage to capture the pebbles on the beachβ¦ I find it very difficult to suggest and paint spontaneously!
Well, love the painting. And itβs not about pebbles on the beach of course. The star of the show is the rock with a stunning hole.
If you like to do pebbles, the only one come in my mind is Joe Dowden. But a lot of spattering and masking fluid is needed.
It would be so detailed, your rock would be out of tune.
Hi everyone! I share to you this landscape at sunset, with the view on the river, in the Italy countryside.
Iβm proud about the clouds, but not completely convinced of the details, I think a little more in some specific parts can make this artwork better, but Iβm here to improve my art, so every feedback is appreciated.
Roberto- if you want this painting to βpopβ, you have to change the value in all the greenery by at least 2 shades darker. Perhaps 3. Just my thought.
These are lovely. I too have only done tutorials and am very thankful for them. But it is time to move forward. I have chosen Olly because I am drawn to his explanations and teaching style and voice! Also the adorable chocolate watercolor pallete got me. Thank you for sharing!
