Took a walk along the canyon path behind my house where I was inspired by the light and dark of the sun filtering through the trees. However, I seem to have a lot of trouble with large masses of green. These are Coast Oak (I'm in California) that never lose their green leaves. Also, a bit of our "beautiful" poison oak showing its glorious red colors at this time of year. I look forward to any tips and comments! Happy New Year!
I like the "summery" mode in this painting, especially the lights and shadows on the path makes it look like summer. I agree about the difficulty with large green masses, I also have trouble with that, but I think you have made quite a good job here.
