Having a lot of time to paint over the summer holidays here, and thought I'd have another go at the Inspiration Challenge. The below is a photo I took a few years ago when I was on holiday on Tasmania's east coast. The beaches are pristine and Friendly Beaches is a stunning spot to visit. This shows the view looking south, towards The Hazards (the peaks on the right hand horizon) and Maria Island (just peaking over the sea in the distance). I was struck by the colour of the rocks, the breaking waves and the shifting colours of the water, from deep blue in the distance through turquoise and crystal clear close by.
The painting, photo and preliminary sketch are below - any comments welcome!

I like how the wave softens in the middle and the effect you have achieved with the rocks.
Overall a very nice scene and nicely painted. Colors work well as does the shadows on some of the rocks
Beautiful rocks!
The surf in the sea would have been better painting negatively with a dry brush technique, a couple of simple horizontal strokes. As it is now it comes forward to much. The sea that flows onto the beach is fine with the detail. The rocks are rather beautiful and its a nice drawing as well.
