normandy coast

in Inspiration Challenge 2024

I am always very inspired by this area of coastline in Normandy ( next to Omaha Beach) and have already done some exercises on it. Here I focussed on the reflection of the rocks in the water. But this is quite difficult for me and probably needs more practice. The sky has also become quite patchy (including a second colour application with an attempt at correction).

I like the composition and the way that you handled the values and the shadows. The photo is of a much brighter day and I wonder if putting brighter blues in the water and sky will make it stand out a bit more.

Many thanks Bob. I am perhaps a little hesitant to apply vibrant colours to larger areas. I'm afraid it will look too unnaturally bright. But yes, it would be necessary here.
