Dover Castle

Visited this back in Aug 2019 with family (last gathering) before Covid impact all of us. Standing here with my mom and kids and I remember the warm of the sun light and very strong wind.

Please give feedback. I've changed up / simplified a few things out, and crop the picture for what i think better composition. But I think both will work.

I felt the distance ship should be removed and the distance shoreline need to be paler. (will paint this again soon)

But the gray stone is hard for me. what color should i use for the front side??? I use raw sienna with some cadmium red and felt that is it far off from what I want.

10x15" size.

second try after getting advice on the gray color mix... but, i can't do the same scale again :).

should have leave out the righ side tower completely, oh well.

and I add the clear horizon line. The picture indeed becomes much cooler. Not sure is an improvement. but, fun trying this out.
