Dutch landscape with fence
I am an absolute beginner with watercolor, and with painting in general. I started to do some urban sketching last summer and made a few sketches with pen and watercolor. Last november I decided to skip the pen and see what happens. Struggled seriously to get to know the medium, but with help from youtube I made some progress. I had a lot of trouble to find that transparent quality of watercolor, I think mainly due to the fact that I used about ten times as much brush strokes than necessary.
Then I found the video's of Edo and got really inspired. I painted one of his tutorials and was really happy with how it turned out. After painting a second tutorial, I gained enough courage to try a first painting of my own. It is a simple dutch landscape and it is based on a photo I found on the internet and a little imagination. I am very pleased with the result.
My aim is to use the winter to practice using photo's and gain some confidence and routine and then to go out in spring and paint outdoors. I live in a lovely part of the Netherlands, with woods, heather and river landscape all within walking distance.
I'd appreciate your feedback and any tips to help me progress towards my aim.

Very nice. To pull the foreground forward and the background back, you can warm the green at the front and blue it in the distance of the field.
