I’m working on a submission to my first curated online art show. The theme is Duality (pretty broad on purpose I assume) each entry needs to consist of two pieces 12” square. This is of a cedar nurse tree I came across locally. I wanted to keep this one fresh, similar to OP’s work. I do struggle with getting the hues and values I’m looking for on the 1st or 2nd wash, so I end up going over some areas too many times and end up mixing complements and loose the transparency in spots I know I need a little more work to anchor the main tree and some of the others. I value this group for your helpful critiques and suggestions, so please feel free to comment. All advice is welcome.
