So this is scary considering all I’ve seen posted…haha… But I’m here to learn so very open to critiques.

I painted this for someone from a photo they gave me; so the composition isn’t mine. If only I had seen Olly’s video sooner about painting every fence post.

I guess I’m a bit of an urban sketcher but I don’t like to limit myself. I just know, for my watercolours, I would like to learn to paint more (using techniques) and draw less if that makes sense. Oh and hopefully learn when to stop painting … Queen of over painting! Thrilled to be here.

Annie, this is a charming painting in itself, as Ricardo said more of an illustration, but if your goal is to " learn to paint more (using techniques) and draw less," as you said, then I would suggest taking Patty's advice and do the painting again, painting it without using the line and wash technique, but approaching in a more painterly way now that you have benefit of Olly's advice and example, and the examples of others in the forum. I think you could really benefit from that.
