I wanted to capture the feeling of our Redbud tree in the garden. Ultimately I overworked the painting and thought the composition was stilted. However, I decided to post the picture because I wondered whether one should call this a landscape or a tree portrait. I find it difficult to handle a really complex and interesting landscape composition, so I thought it might be more manageable to explore capturing a piece of a landscape. Any thoughts?
