Fanad Head Lighthouse, Ireland.

A watercolor painting I recently finished of Fanad Head Lighthouse, Ireland. It is painted from a photograph I made some years ago when we were on holiday in Ireland traveling the Wild Atlantic Way.

This is my first post on this Oliver Pyle membership forum. I started painting watercolour a year and a half ago and am still finding my way. I am very much attracted to landscape painting. The YouTube tutorials from Oliver I find very useful, they guide me. Thanks a lot for those Oliver!

I tend to paint quite detailed but wish to loosen up a bit, paint somewhat more abstract.

Oh well, in time that might come.

Comments are welcome. Have a nice day everyone.

Hi Bruce, thanks. Yes skies can be difficult to paint. I also went through Oliver’s tutorials about skies a number of times and they have helped me considerably. I almost every time build my skies in different layers. So that gives me time to work. Good luck.
