Morning Light


From the ridge above, the light created a strong tonal contrast against the valley below. The sandstone cliffs are simply stated with emphasis on the detailed textures of the foreground foliage. The repetition of the saplings created a strong pattern to the composition and linked the earth and sky. The blue haze across these mountains occurs from the eucalyptus oil emitted from the leaves of the trees, combined with dust particles and water vapour, and shadows in the valleys are a warm blue. All comments welcome.
