Empty beach
This is my first coast painting, taken from a photo I took a few months back.
The Hague is separated and protected from the sea by a long chain of dunes a few 100 meters deep. In the winter months the beach huts and temporary restaurants are taken down and the beach is left open for several kilometers.
Quite a challenge to get the sense of wet sand as the waves ebb and flow.

I really like this. The granulating sky is gorgeous! And you really gave it a sense of depth and perspective. Very convincing. This is the kind of motif you can paint endlessly and make it new every time.
