Recent tonal study of an old farm in the Hartley Valley west of the Blue Mountains. The foreground trees with their shadows provided a strong tonal contrast against the light, with the farm buildings forming a middle ground against the distant hills. Aimed for a range of about five tones in this study. The full extent of this scene is probably too detailed for a watercolour but a good exercise in tonal contrast.
