Just a sketch, but completely from memory
On the drive home this evening, I saw this scene and I wanted to try and capture the very watery sun, a slight mist in the air, a soft focus distance and the vivid red autumn tree in a sun kissed hedge.
This falls under the banner of I have no clue what I’m doing, but it was completely from memory. Shame I couldn’t conjure what was on the right hand side of the scene…

Gill, I didn't see this before now, for some reason, but better late than never! 😄 I like this, it's an honest and fresh response to an image that got stuck in your head, and what is landscape painting, if not that? Good job on the silhouetted buildings in the distant, I can't seem to get my paint watery enough, in my efforts.
