Ffordd Farm Entrance

I have tried to capture the feeling of a bright summer afternoon by minimising detail. It was quite a busy subject, lots of foliage, twigs etc in front of the building, so I tried to simplify it. The two trees on the right are dead, which is why they have no foliage.

It's painted on Arches Rough, I have not much experience with cotton papers, it requires a different technique to Bocking Ford, but I feel I 'm getting the hang of it.

Comments always welcome. 8ik

Beautiful painting Trevor. You did a really good job with the barn and the trees in the background. To emphasize the foreground with the beautiful entrance gate more (for me the focal point) you could perhaps use warmer colours in this area and and some more contrasts.
