My first time exhibiting
I have been very busy framing five of my paintings for a group exhibition being held to celebrate the moving to new studios of the atelier where I study drawing in Haarlem, The Netherlands (https://www.dutchartatelier.com/opening.html). All attendees of the school were asked to submit work for consideration, so its an exciting event for me as it will be the first time I have exhibited work anywhere. The work will be for sale so you never know perhaps I will get lucky.
I framed everything myself, I restored some lovely old frames I gathered from various thrift stores and matched frames to paintings.
It is crazy though, most of these frames are about 100 years old, they just had faded old prints in them, nothing special, but one said, 'framed 1915' on the back which is amazing, its very satisfying to combine painting with upcycling and restoring to make something new.
It was a lot of work I must say, but Its a step up the ladder to feeling like a 'real' artist.
Wish me luck! ;-)

Congratulations on the exhibition, Paul. I hope it went well. I love the idea of matching the old frames to your paintings.
