Invercauld Bridge

Invercauld Bridge was built around 1748 by the British army across the River Dee in Scotland. It is just upstream of Balmoral castle. I was fortunate to be able to fish for salmon here.

I have been playing around with a palette made up of colors that would have been used by watercolorists in the early 1800's. I used that palette here. It gives an interesting feel to the painting as many of the mixing qualities are some what limited and almost always subdued.

This is 9x12" on Arches rough 140 pound paper.

Hi Jon. Thank you for the kind words. I wrote a reply to Trevor that details the palette. If you are unable to view, let me know.
