The Clear Ditch, Albuquerque, NM

A clear ditch is a feeder canal for a vast network of irrigation ditches in the Middle Rio Grande Valley. The scene is at dusk in late December and based on a quick cell phone image, taken as we walked by. I painted it on a small piece of Whatman's paper from my stash, aquired in the late 60's. Paint just flows from the brush to the surface of the paper and I feel so confifdent when I work with it. I still have several full-sized sheets that will probably last me until I can't paint any more.
