Outdoor sketches, straw bales
When I discovered the fields with the straw bales, I knew that I wanted to paint them and that I had to hurry - because you never know. So early yesterday morning I went out into the fields to sketch and paint the fields from different perspectives. Then in the afternoon I went out again to do one last sketch. I had just installed myself in the shade of a straw bale and started the sketch when the farmer came and cleared the field within a few minutes - and there I was, with no shadow, a half-finished sketch and no main motif. But I finished the painting anyway, which is why a few bales of straw are out of proportion in the last sketch...but I am happy with the result and the beautiful day outside among the straw bales.

Thank you for your nice comment, Deborah. I didn't use a pen for the fine work, but rather a rigger and an Escoda Perla brush, which has a very fine tip.
