Shed in the light
The shed surrounded by trees and the play of light and shadow on a sunny and cold morning inspired me to create this painting. With more complex motifs, I often find it difficult toto imagine all the individual steps that are necessary one after the other to achieve a satisfactory result. Thatโs why I often paint the same motif several times. Because with every new painting I notice different Thing that arenโt quite right and how I should proceed next time. But that doesnโt mean that the new painting will necessarily be better ๐ Do you know that, too?
The painting below is now the 4thย in the series and I still see enough things that need to be improved. As I started fiddling around, I stopped and left it as it was. For now, Iโm happy with it and can go back to simpler subjectsโฆ.๐
Arches CP 300g; 31x41cm
French ultramarine, cobalt blue, prussian blue, raw sienna, burnt sienna, raw umber, burnt umber, ultramarine violet, little bits of kadmium red and pure yellow

Thank you for your positive comment Trevor. I also like to paint more complex subjects like this, to try out the different techniques in context, because there are so many things to pay attention to at the same time. For example, avoid similarities like the fir trees in my painting ๐
