Sun breaking through clouds over the sea

My steps in making this painting as it was quite a rush:

Maskout the horizon line and surf; premix sky colours; wet both sides of the sheet; wait till its soaked in a bit and not shiney; apply the sunlight wash of raw sienna and a little indian yellow; apply cerulean/rose madder washes either side of the sunlight and work towards the sides of the painting; work upwards into the darker clouds with some cad red and ultramarine washes; add extra pigment to mixes to add stronger values into the washes; keep removing any hard edges that appear with a damp brush; get to that critical moment when the sheet is drying and you MUST stop and not fiddle (this is the hardest bit as you can ruin a painting - so you must just trust and accept what you have done up until now); let it dry; work on the sea gradation; remove masking fluid; using pull out technique soften masked edges; add details to waves; dry; add foreground with two or three premixed greens.

Note this was my second attempt (my first attempt failing at '... MUST stop and not fiddle ...' )😅
