My Plein Air Set up
I have made for myself from various odds and ends I had in the shed a portable plein air easel. Its built around an old ikea picture frame I had. I've posted some images below to show how it looks.
The painting board has a wooden block underneath that attaches to the tripod. The support for the pallette and water is the ikea frame, with a piece removed to slot it around the tripod legs. One section slots inside the other to make it easy to carry. You can leave your paper block inside aswell. I must admit it was pure luck that the top section fitted into the old frame, I designed it around the size of the paper block - I found the frame later, and was overjoyed to see that it was a perfect fit.
If anyone is interested hopefully you can work out how I made it through the images below. I based my design on this YT movie.

Oh, well done Paul! It's very impressive. I haven't ventured out into the air yet and have only recently discovered Oliver (I am sooo happy about finding him, I am learning so much from his demos and explanations). I'm just a newbie watercolour painter - at 73 and have my own "studio" upstairs in a spare bedroom.
