Government House, Yarralumla

Had a go at this view of Government House in Canberra, Australia, from a recent trip. Happy with how the sky worked out, and getting more variation in the greens. More to learn on the foreground and building in the distance. Any comments welcome.

I also struggle with foregrounds. Both Oliver and Edo say: "Keep details to a minimum since it is not the focalpoint." I try to think of foreground as place where I leave a trail of detail leading the viewers eye to where I want them to look. I'm not good at it, but try to practise it. Maybe you could have hinted cloudreflections on the watersurface. The could have formed an arrow pointing to the other shore that leads to the house. You started this with the grass pointing in that direction.

Nice painting I think. Looks a bit like where I live.. -In Sweden.
