Aussie bush landscape
Well here goes, comments/critique appreciated. Have been painting for close to 10 years but mostly florals, pet portraits and wildlife. Painting was a stress release after work and I found painting lots of detail quite meditative. Since retiring and moving to the countryside (this year) I have started to try my hand at landscapes with less detail. Found Olly on youtube and absolutely dived in. In my enthusiasm I have probably tried too many online workshops and then got confused/overwhelmed and no longer knew what I was doing. Over the last 2 months I have tried to come back to basics and watch several artists I really admire on youtube. Olly being a must and now adding Edo to my small list. Hopefully I'm not copying but learning.

At this stage I'm just happy to feel that I am capturing a bit of the landscape around my home. This was my attempt after watching a youtube clip with Herman Pekel. Hope it is ok to name other artists (should check the rules). But I wanted to ensure that I acknowledged the artist and you didn't think I came up with the style/concept LOL

Beautiful colours. And is is what we get from Australia! I know that Pekel does such. I wished he did this instead of his Chinese dvd. Recently I saw on you tube a girl. She obvious copy the style of some bigger painters. But she does do it very good. Pekel, Zbukvic and Alvaro she can do it all. I rather saw her own style, but it delivers for her Patreon. Its more about money than art I have the feeling. I learned also from other painters, in my time there were only Dutch and English watercolour artists available. And that style I liked. So that is what I do at the end. you have to follow what you like. Otherwise it will bring you not the joy in your hobby!
