Reflections

In the neighbourhood where I live there are several old estates, located in the woods that have always fascinated me. I particularly like this scene because of its nice bridge and the reflections in the water. But it took some time to think about the way how to approach this. So I finally decided to paint this landscape in portrait and created a bit more light in the scene. I used Arches 300 gr hot pressed paper which was quite a challenge with the trees and foliage because dry brushstrokes were not so easy. But then again it is very nice paper for glazing as it seems to fix the paint much better than rough paper, once it is dry. And that was ideal for the water.

Thanks Jon, sometimes you have the luck that you get it on paper in the way that you wanted.
