Autumn Road
Hi everybody,
I have no reference photo for this one, as it's an autumnal scene completely from my imagination, inspired by an increasingly colder and moodier Oslo/Norway, and, not least, inspired by both @Edo, @Olly and other great watercolour tutors, using many of the different techniques they've demonstrated in their videos.
I am quite please with this one, even though I'm still a bit heavy on the paint. A lighter touch would make this even better, and that dark cloud formation looked a bit weird in the finished painting, but again, I'm still learning. I didn't fiddle about as much as I use to, I tried to use my intuition more eg. regarding shadows, and I'm really happy about those long shadows in the lower part of the painting, sculpting and dividing the field on the left, from the road.
Fun fact: This was done on the back of a 10x7" Langton Prestige NOT, and I questioned the quality of the back of that brand in another post. Well, I was obviously wrong, because this time, the back was a joy to paint on! Or maybe, I'm actually learning..? 🤔
As usual, would love to hear what you think, what you think would improve it etc.!

Very nice indeed. Love the long shadows. Oh and now I see its an old one! I hadnt seen this before.
