I feel like I'm at a funny stage. I have a level of understanding of various techniques and through practice I've occasionally hit on a degree of competency, even if it isn't always reproducible. I'm still at the "learning to drive" stage, where I have to think about every aspect of making the marks on the paper, and if I lose concentration at all, disaster strikes. Disaster struck on the first attempt of this painting, where I made the fields far too vibrant. I'd be grateful for comments and suggestions as to how I can bring this to life a bit more!
