Prompted by discussions on this forum, I've been thinking that it was time I did more painting on location. We have spent some time on the coast this weekend, so here are a couple of small plein air sketches (10 x 7 inches) from a visit to the beach at Lepe. The views across to the Isle of Wight invite an emphasis on practising skies. I was trying to follow the advice from Olly, Ed and others to keep them light and unfussy.
