Every month, our watercolor group comes together for a special challenge. Our admin selects and shares a landscape for everyone to download.

From that moment on, each artist works on their own interpretation, quietly and independently, without seeing what others are creating.

Then, on the 27th of the month , something magical happens. We all post our finished watercolors on the same day.

By sharing our work at the same time, we keep our creativity pure—free from influence—and celebrate the incredible variety of styles, choices, and techniques that emerge from a single subject. Same landscape. Different eyes. Endless possibilities.

Walt says: The first thing I did was choose where to save the whites. I made a point of that and working lightly.

After that, it was all about getting the texture of the foliage. And varying my hold on the brush -- getting different strokes and movements to claim the space. I purposely curved the path to pull the eye more assertively, and let it dwell, rather than rush straight in. I enjoyed the exploration into mixing my own greens. I think that's starting to work It was fun. Thank you.
