Hello everyone. I always seem to have this problem. I know Oliver talks about making sure you mix enough paint, in order to help keep the edge wet when working around your painting or so that you don’t have to mix up more paint when your actually painting. However, I always struggle to mix big puddles of paint. Especially ones that have enough pigment in them. I try wetting my brush, then dipping in my paint and then adding it to my metal palette mixing area. I keep doing this, but don’t ever seem to get big puddles. Should I be adding water to my mixing area and then just keep dipping into the paint and adding it in? I hope this makes sense and someone can help me. It’s always a big problem I have and often have parts of my painting that dry as I’m mixing up more paint as I don’t have enough or my brush isn’t wet enough when I paint onto the paper.
