I painted this a few years ago when I was getting started in watercolor. It is a scene on the shore of Delaware Bay at the tip of New Jersey. This spot is aptly named Sunset Beach, where people gather to watch the sun go down. The beach is restored with sand dunes and a tangle of native plants to prevent flooding and erosion. The photo was taken with a cell phone, leaving it a bit blue and sharpening the edges . They are not as vivid in my actual painting. The pinks and grays were fun to mix and match. Sometimes, I really like to include people in my landscapes. So, grab a G and T in a sippy cup and wander on down to join the crowd.
