Tree practice

This is a scene from industrial park near where I work.

Recently taking online watercolor courses and now on the tree chapter. Unfortunately the instructor didn't cover birch trees and how to leave out the white. And for my love to birch trees, I painted these and using the forbidden masking fluid. Seriously, anyone has better idea for painting birch trees here please guide me!!! :) thanks in advance!

I use masking fluid- especially for lights at night or sparkles on water, which I then blur the edges of. No big deal to use it. Or you can scrape out the branches with a credit card if you are quick - thats a Ron Ranson method. The top branches of a birch tend to be a bit olivey green and there are always horizontal marks on them (almost like eyes) - so perhaps just mask out the bottom or mid section with the water behind.

Lovely painting though, very fluid and fresh and confidently painted.
