Morning at the Wildlife Reserve
This is my first post. I have been learning a lot from the many helpful comments to this forum. I am new to landscape painting but have painted botanicals for a couple of years. I look forward to your ideas about my first landscape attempt. This is a scene is from my favorite walk at a local national wildlife refuge near my home in the US Pacific Northwest state of Oregon. I walk here at dawn every chance I get and have for nearly ten years. The original wetlands were converted to a dairy farm in the 1800s and have now been restored to their original beauty by the National Wildlife Service. The fields are surrounded by hills covered in pine forests that are always shrouded in mist and fog. I tried to capture a little bit of the beauty of the fog covered hills and the early morning light. The bird blind is actually set farther back from the pond but using artistic license I "moved" it forward. Paper is Canson - L'Aquarelle Heritage, 100% cotton, Cold Pressed 140 lb (300 g/m2), 11x14" (27.5x35cm).

Thank you Erik. I appreciate your encouragement. I will definitely try this one again.
