Watery world

Here in the Netherlands, you cant avoid it - landscape painting will involve big skies and reflections on the water. This is my second boat painting based on a photo I took in the Biesbosch nature reserve in August. I really enjoyed painting this, with all the details. Its most cobalt blue, windsor yellow and raw sienna. Brushwise: the trees are painted with sables (Escoda and Rosemary and Co) to get the rough unpredictable edges, a rigger (Da Vinci nova synthetic) for the branches and trunks, and for the reflections a synthetic (Escoda Perla, Rico Design or Princeton Aqua Elite) that gives finer pointed edges.
