Pond with reflections
I painted this image below following step-by-step YT movie by a watercolor artist called Sunil Linus De.

I was fascinated how he manages to get this wonderful feeling of light in his foliage and trees so i did this as a learning exercise. In my next painting I can hopefully apply what I've learnt.
He works in 3 layers, so the lighter band of foliage is done first and then the background added afterwards. I don't possess his calligraphic skill as yet, but that will hopefully develop over time. Everything is approached as a series of large connected shapes, made with one wash into which he keeps adding different colors.
It think this sort of exercise also helps in understanding how to break down a busy image into something to be painted.
Oh and I also used Aureolin Yellow and really loved its transparency (for those following that post).

I too love the paintings by Sunil Linus De., so sunny. Your example is splendid. I must try Aureollin.
