I have not posted in a while, apologize. This is actually v2 of this scene. The first had terrible values. What I struggle with the most ( and thus the title, to paraphrase Pogo, I have met the enemy and it is I!). The water in this stream is gin clear. When I look at the photo, I see right through the water to the bottom ( because I have trained myself to do so). So I have a very difficult time painting brown and green water, knowing the water is actually clear. Any assistance or suggestions here would be helpful. I have a lot of scenes similar to this I would like to paint. Here is the reference photo.
