Sunset at La Tierra Bike Trails
Here's the first one I've had time to sit down and do in a while. I'm pretty happy with it. The sky was challenging. I worked wet into wet with cerulean blue and cadmium red, cadmium yellow, and a touch of burnt sienna. I referred to a reference photo from an evening bike ride I took Wednesday, but only briefly and early early on. Once I had the sky down, I didn't take my eyes off it. I'd like to try again for more saturation at the top of the sky.

Great painting. So rugged which doesn't appear so well in the photo. I've often found that the dark areas in a print of a photo I use to paint from just come out essentially black with no detail. Sometimes I've tinkered with a copy of the photo to over expose it so I can see what's happening in the dark areas
