Question about improving the composition

I try out motifs in small format that I can imagine as possible images. With this motif, I actually want to focus on the rocks, but I also definitely want to show the wide open landscape. This naturally leaves a lot of space in the foreground. I'm not sure whether the current realisation means that you don't know where to look, that everything is too much and too confusing. What do you think could be improved?

There are 100 ways to make a watercolour.

I would make something in 3 tones first. White, middle and dark values. And build from there. And white is ofcourse your paper.

The golden rule is still "the darkest dark, next to the lightest light" to get the interest.

Good luck.
