As day turns to night …

I'm drawn to these magical times as the day ends. The large cloud reflected in the darkening water.

For this picture I used a sheet of W&N paper 300gm CP. Its an interesting sheet that has its own unique character - you can push pigment around on it and pull it out quite easily and I quite like the way the paint sits on it, so your brush strokes take on a certain painterly quality, which I wanted for this. It is fascinating how different each brand of paper is. It is a whiter and less textured sheet compared to Arches.

I used a limited pallete of ultramarine, cobalt blue and raw sienna along with my tube of DS moonglow.
