Thundersky

I wanted this painting to give a feel of a cold January day with thunder and snow coming up over the horizon. The sky was a beautyful dark slightly purplish blue. Almost compact like a wall, but I would have liked it to still be more transparent in the painting. Oh well, it is all for the practice. I am currently looking at the work of our Swedish watercolourist Lars Lerin. He is the true master of bad weather, worn out houses and gloomy light. I love that - at least in a painting.

Any comments and suggestions as usual very welcome.

Kerstin, you have certainly captured the feeling of a harshly cold day! Don't be dismayed because your sky disappointed you. As you say, it is for practice, which none of us do enough of 😊

I'm sure you learned a lot and that you enjoyed painting it. And your foreground is very successful!
