Himalayan Cottage - 2nd round
I was looking for some aerial perspective and found a photo from a trip to Nepal in 2010. This is my first attempt in a 15x20cm sketchbook with Khadi cotton rag paper. I will make a new larger version on Fabriano, which I figure will be easier for details and tonal values, but I rather like the palette in this one. I will look at it for a while to decide what to change in my next version. Any additional thoughts on that will be most welcome.

Update 14/4: Below is my second version of this view, this time on 19x28 cm Fabriano Artistico 300gsm rough. I tried to raise the contrast between fore- and background, and also define more of the mountain ridge. I am not altogether satisfied with the tree foliage, so all suggestions are as usual welcome.

The second version is also well done, and as Trevor commented, it is interesting to see the same painting on different paper. In both versions I get a sense of Shangri La, like I'm stepping into "Lost Horizon". Thank you for sharing both paintings.
