Lizard Lighthouse
Hi everybody,
During our summer holiday (which I'm sure you're all tired of hearing about at this point.. 😆), we stayed for one night at the Housel Bay Hotel, a lovely little spot on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. This was the view from their garden, and even though this in all honesty is a way too complicated scene for me, at my level, I really wanted to have a go! There are plenty of challenges present here, many different techniques to practise, and I really love how the hilltop on the right and the lighthouse catches the last rays of sunlight. I wanted to see if I could come anywhere near that cool to warm light effect.
There are still quite a few clumsy bits, elements where I fiddled about, overworked, but there are also several things I'm really happy with, eg. the said change of light temperature, the shadows cast by the most distant lighthouse, etc.
What do you think? Any advice are very welcome!

Thanks, Howard, I'll take that! I'm very much learning different watercolour tricks as I go, and I should probably spend much more time doing more basic painting exercises, but that's not as fun as painting pictures.. So glad you liked this one!
