Resting Boats DS & MG watercolors on 9x12" 140 Lb CP paper

This is a painting inspired by Edward Wesson. The toned down, muted colors and loose style provided a melancholic, moody feel to the scene. Paints used: cobalt blue, burnt umber, Payne's gray, yellow ochre and alizarin crimson. I'm wondering about the aerial perspective and the reflections on the water of this painting. What about the color harmony?

Good work Robert. I feel like the day is overcast and moody as you mention. I want the water to be darker to reflect that feeling. I know it mirrors the sky here, but I feel a darker tone would help. Especially with the minimal reflections painted. You painted no local color in the reflections except for the wall? Perhaps that reflection should be smaller?
Just my thoughts.
