One of my favorite places we visit is Colorado. We will be there next week on holiday and I'm very excited about taking my kit and plein air painting the mountains for the first time. This week I have been experimenting with background colors for mountains and that wonderful glow that the sunsets give. I did a quick painting in my sketch book first (from a photo off my phone) and then today painted it again using a few tweaks in color to see what resonated best and maybe where I need to adjust.
