Cadiz at sunset

Hello all,

This is my first post to the forum. I started with watercolor just a couple of months ago after one of my daughters gave me some brushes and other materials as a Christmas present. I was immediately hooked and bought myself a set of Winson & Newton tubes that I now use.

I have been learning from different tutorials and the videos of Oliver Pyle have been most instructive and encouraging (Thank you Oliver!).

The image that I present here is taken from a photograph that I took one evening about a year ago in the city of Cadiz, in the Southwest coast of Spain, facing the Atlantic Ocean, were I was born. I live in Madrid but I go there often and when I arrive I always go to the place where the photograph was taken and spend some time just looking at the sea, or if it is late at night, just listening to it in the dark.

The sky is perhaps a bit overdone, a consequence of trying to hide some mistakes, which in turn is in itself an additional mistake. Just learning...

The paper is cold pressed Arches 300 g/m2.
