Erbach in the Odenwald
I did this exercise last week with my new Maimeri paints ☺️. Since the paints are now available in Germany, I ordered some basic landscape pigments to try out. I think I like them; they're rich in colour and have a beautiful luminosity.
I want to practice half-timbered houses (there are many in the area) and reflections. Compositionally, I should have raised the horizon to emphasize the reflections more while preventing the focal point from being in the center of the painting.
This beautiful house is located in the town of Erbach on the Mümling River, about 40 km from us. There are many old half-timbered houses there, and it was a beautiful, warm summer day when we were there last year.
Colours: raw and burnt sienna, cobalt and ultramarine blue, transparent yellow, burnt umber and maybe bits of others. On the wall I used a local colour, caput mortuum (from Schmincke), we have a lot of red sandstone here.

Thank you, Antonela, for your kind and helpful comment, I really appreciate it! I still have so much to learn about reflections—and yes, they could be stronger—I'll be bolder next time. It's a good idea to blend the left side of the fence into the greenery. In „real life“ there was a modern bridge, and I gave up on including it in the painting after several failed attempts.
